Seal Rock near Monterey, California is silhouetted against a pink/lavender sky. If you study real closely you may be able to make out some seals on the rock. Shear luck provided the flying seagull that adds that little bit extra to complete this scene. This is one of my most popular selling pictures. (5x7 ratio)

Oak Creek flowing through West Fork Canyon in northern Arizona makes beautiful scenery. This is the picture my oldest grand daughter chose for her wedding gift. I think she made an excellent choice. (8x10 ratio)
Backlit Cottonwood tree in Aravaipa Canyon in southeastern Arizona. Interestingly, I had to wait, before clicking the shutter, for 2 of my companion backpackers to pass behind the large boulder to make this a scenic without people present. (8x12 ratio)

A close up of this old Juniper tree base shows some character through its form and texture. The barbed wire fencing and axe marks near the bottom show that it was quite useful to ranchers over the years. I wish it could talk and tell us stories of what it has observed.
