Paul photographs with Canon cameras. He uses a variety of lenses ranging from 24 mm to 500 mm. His favorite for its flexibility in composing an image is his Canon 28-200 mm zoom lens. His favorite for sharpness and close ups is a Canon 100 mm macro lens.

Paul was a hiker and backpacker long before he developed his photography skills. Because he obtains most of his images during these activities the portability of his camera equipment is a paramount consideration. Paul often feels that even his 35mm cameras are too heavy.

Kodachrome 25 and 64 were his mainstay films for many years. Now, with the advancements in digital photography, film is seldon used.  His preferred photo lab for drum scans and photo enlargements is Mighty Imaging in Phoenix, Arizona.
